La Princesse est une horrible personne centrée sur
elle-même et qui pense être bienveillante avec son peuple. Ce n'est pas le cas. Elle tombe de haut quand le médecin du
monastère où elle est en visite lui claque ses quatre vérités en pleine figure.
Tchékhov écrit qu'elle se prend pour un oiseau dans sa
façon de se déplacer et que, à sa manière, c'est sa façon de "voler au dessus des rageux".
L'édition se présente de la façon suivante : Une page sur deux est opaque, blanche, normale, avec le dessin
imprimé dessus, et la suivante comporte juste le dessin de la mésange imprimée sur du rhodoïd transparent.
La vision de la population est représentée par le premier dessin.
Le point de vue de la princesse vient
masquer celui de la population, l'enfermant dans sa bulle utopique et égocentrique.

The princess is a horrible, self-centred person who thinks she is good to her people.
This is not the case. She has a hard time when the doctor at the monastery she visits tells her the truth.
Chekhov writes
that she thinks she is a bird in the way she moves and that this is her way of closing her eyes to the misfortunes of her kingdom.
The edition is as follows: Every other page is opaque, white, normal, with the drawing printed on it, and the and the next page just has the drawing of the tit printed on transparent rhodoid.
The population's point of view is represented by the first drawing.
The princess's point of view masks that of the population, enclosing her in her utopian and egocentric bubble.
